Been reading a lot lately about electric pick up pumps fitted to help the VP44 injector pumps. Has anyone on here done this? and if so, what sort of pump?

Ok, my question now is, what part of the VP44 pump is prone to failure? Is it in the ecu on the pump, or one of the sensors themselves? Pic provided.

Ok, I'm gonna go with its the pump. Started this morning, died after 1 minute. Started again, dies after a minute, gave the 0407 code only this time. cleaned return pipe and ball. Changed ecu, primer pump all to no avail. Its really pissing me now, as we started with so many codes, and have now...

Ok, disconnected dual battery system and engine ran for longest it ever has since this all started, but alas, once again it all of a sudden stops. It no sometimes gives a code, and other times doesnt. Any other ideas?

Thanks everyone for the advice. Only the two codes show up now, and it starts almost every time i clear them. Runs for awhile, then shuts off. I found what looks like some sort of tuning chip/throttle controller on this thing. Never knew it was there. Removed it, and havent had all the other...

Ok, come home and it started after a brief crank. Ran for a bit then just turned off again. Codes 0407 crank sensor (which is new and tested wiring) and 0701 Camshaft Position Sensor. Cracked injector and cranked it over, fuel coming out but wont fire. Cleared codes, car starts again. Changed...

Ok, I am now even more confused. Cleared all codes, give primer a few pumps til hard and car starts. Turn it off, turn it back on, car starts. Run for about 30 seconds, giving it a couple of revs, let it idle for about another 30, touch pedal, car cuts out. Cranking wont fire again. Got more...

Yeah, am going down the path of electrical wires and earths before getting to fuel pump (last resort). Found a thread here about starter motors spiking and creating these exact types of codes so I have one to try as well, my auto elecky even said he's had that type of thing happen to him on...

We tried firing it on a quick squirt of start ya bastard. As soon as we did that all the codes came back

Ok, cleared the codes and get 0505 now, which is saying all systems normal. Still wont start
