D40 King Cab Fuel Issues etc etc etc

Having just returned from a trip to QLD from Vic and now with some 50,000k's on the clock i seem to have suffered none of the problems you talk about . Was getting around 12/12.5 L /100k's when sitting above a 100 k's and around 11/11.5 L /100k's at a 100 or below. Whilst these arent car...

    Navara clutch issues?

Thats exactly what i meant Matt. If i let mates pull my boat out up a ramp, there is really only a couple that can jump straight in and make it happen. The others put unecessary stress on clutch. Its just lacking off the mark with low down torque and can catch someone out who's probably not...

    Navara clutch issues?

Down low is a bit of an issue and i wonder whether this is contributing to some of the failures.

    Navara clutch issues?

I hear so much about clutch problems with Navara's i was just curious how many manual owners here have had problems. I ask this because i have had no such problems in 50,000k's with a large amount of it towing a 2500kg boat behind it. If you have had problems what actually failed and what did...

    D40 High Beam Wire/Spot lights

I run my power to the spotties relay straight from the back of alternator. This ensures a higher than 12 volt supply at the lights all the time.

    Melbourne to Queensland

Hey guys, made i safely and are now relaxing on the Gold coast after a day a Seaworld today. Must say fuel economy was a bit strange given that there really no heavy load. We left Cobram 3am Tues for Dubbo and had to fill up @ Parkes to be sure. Cruise control all the way with the odd passing of...

    D40 sidesteps

Definately no thought went into them whatsoever. All they seem to do is catch the mud flicked up by the wheels. You pull up to get out of your car and find that you have to jump over side steps coated in a slab of mud.

    My other car's a...

i have a 06 2.5 5 cylinder turbo diesel VW transporter for work. Its like a race car compared to the Navara, close 6 speed box makes it capable of doing past the 176 ive had it up to. But as far as money pits go, this is mine

    What Colour Bullbar ?

I raised mine 2"'s and it doesnt void the warranty. Sure the ride is firmer but it ten times better than the standard, at least it is no longer sloppy. If you go past 2' you will need the vehicle to be engineered for insurance and roadworthy. As for winches 2 months ago the 4wd magazine did a...

    D40 Fuel Economy

I would struggle to get high 500's around town and on the highway it would be consistantly around 10/11 k's per 100. (diesel/manual) Towing my 2.5 tonne boat best 15.5/100 worst 19/100/ Must say its not as economical as i thought it would be but to be honest i have never thought of 4wd vehicles...

    Suspension

I believ if you fit these you will need to change the bumpstop rubber on control arm otherwise you will bend something (cant remember what but was reading it from another forum)

Blackwood is about 30k's past Baccus Marsh just off the Western Hwy. So far book has been greta but not sure from the end directions were lost...

    couple from today @ Blackwood

Great day out in the bush, wish i got more photos but some of the big stuff required momentum (and it was too muddy to get out) so there was no time to stop for photo's. yesterdays rain made conditions a little worse. Photo's never seem to do it justice, Was really impressed getting over the...

Upgrade advice please... and thank you

Considered spacers myself before doing some research and found they weren't working to well on the D40. I believe there was an issue of bending, cant remeber what though. Can i ask why you would buy shocks that can be rebuilt?
