4WD Warning light on

Hi guys, This is similar to another recent post by someone else.
When I started the ute this morning, the orange '4WD' stayed on and the little LCD car icon with the two diffs is completely gone. The car is in 2WD and if I select 4WD nothing changes. Any ideas?.

Well, from my reading of what others have happened, they usually say "check your switches / wiring / connectors" going into the gearbox / transfer case.

Unplug, clean with Contact Cleaner and replace.. Dirt / Grime / Water ingress can all lead to short circuit.. Or It could be a damaged cable..

^ As above, it's the best place to start as long as we don't supect anything else.

It's a little concerning that the symbol has disappeared from the instruments altogether, I wonder if what you're seeing is a power issue behind the cluster? Have you made any changes to the car?

Made no changes except removing the LED light bar a couple of days ago.
Started the ute again this afternoon and same thing then looked down after a few k's and all is normal.
I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks guys.
