Another Intercooler Thread

Hey guys.

Got my XR cooler today.

And am thinking mounting options.


I need some info on possible heat problems etc if I mount it here.


I will move the fuel filter over to the other side, and I think either put in a cruiser airbox or move it towards to cab, disposing of the pre filter.

oh, And I would run an offset bonnet vent, before anyone mentions it, lol.

there shouldnt be too many problems with mounting it there just make sure it is mounted properly on rubber mounts so vibration doesnt destroy it and it should be fine

Yeh Ditch the pre-cleaner, Is restrictive... Looks an ok spot, will keep the pipes shortish and bonnet vent to keep air flowing, maybe another fan later on if you have too help keep engine bay temps lower..

I just cant quite picture the air filter/Sensor fitment yet...

Sorry to hijack. has anyone ran a top mount on an 05 (era) like on some of the newer D22's?
Is it possible?

Can be done, but has to go over to the left side of the engine bay. With a body lift, it could probably be done above the motor.

The cooler set me back a pack of 10 Cougars.

Its a mates dads old one.

However, I did join the ford forums and posted that I needed one.
They got back to me pretty quick, I was bargaining with some bloke, but he wanted more than $50 for it, PLUS postage, I said no deal.
