Was sitting back the other day thinking:
What would you say, your greatest outback achievements while travelling this great big land are?

For us:
-Cape York
-Fraser Island
-Simpson Desert

Misc:
Not having to be winched or recovered out.
Puncturing more than 2 tyres on a single trip
Using bush mechanics to limp a vehicle to the next town

etc.......

Give us some funny ones!

The Gunbarrel Highway- Docker River to Willuna 25 years ago. Easy to medium 4WD trip but didn't see another vehicle for 3 days! Wouldn't of taken much to go wrong to end in tears.

Steep Point in WA (the most westerly point of Aust) was memorable. Never thought I would make it out of the place.

Mitchel Falls in the Kimberlies was pretty hard going back in those days to.

During my apprentiship (early 90,s) in cairns i used to go away for 3 weeks at a time all over gulf country servicing air cons in aboriginal comunities and repairing/replacing rac,s in remote telecom towers
Just me,the ute,tools,dog,rifle and a swag
back then it was normal to not see anyone for days on end and the tracks were very primitive
Man i miss them days
