Hi all,

Had an experience today towing the caravan, had to stop at lights on a medium steep hill, and this yoyo in front of me decided to slow a bit after just starting causing me to have to slip the clutch.

The engine reved and it took a couple of seconds of slippage for the clutch to engage fully with the pedal fully out, got going and everything seemed ok after that, except for the cooking smell which went away soon after.

Car has done 90,000ks without fault, only made the clutch smell 3 or 4 times in its life. I plan to do more caravan towing soon.

Is this a sign of trouble ahead? I'm thinking its worthwhile doing the clutch now before a breakdown.

Comments welcome.

Cheers
Geoff

Mine did the exact same thing whilst 4wdriving on a really steep bit this easter weekend. Have done a fair few kms since then and doesn't seem to be giving me any trouble. hopefully just it's way of saying that I should have been driving better.
