Cold Cranking AMP on our d40s

HI fellas,
Just a quick one, whats the cca on a 2007 d40 diesel Spanish built. I have a 150amp HD alternator. I want a 12000 pound winch but it says min recommended 660cca. Wondering if I have enough. Thanks in advance

The cca refers to your battery so it's going to depend on what you've installed

The cca on batteries even of the same case size can vary greatly. Usually in line with the price.

If you've got the standard battery it'll deliver around 700CCA so it's just fine. A suitable (not too expensive) upgrade is a 910CCA from Century Batteries.

Your alternator produces 150A? That's handy. Standard D40 produces 130A, so yours is going to do rather well.

As for starting amps (if you're curious), these diesels draw around 500 to 550 amps to turn over.
