compatible gear boxes

anyone know what year and model gear boxes are the same as a spain 08 stx TD auto ? Spain and Thai the same ?

Gearboxes from 2006-2009 should be the same. 2010 saw two different cars with two different engines but the boxes MIGHT be the same - they certainly have all the same characteristics. The V9X got a different box (out of a 350Z, I think - could be wrong) and its controller is screwed when in 4L.

The d40 came with a RE5RO5A transmission i believe both the autos and manuals were the same box, same as the infinitis and 350z's

So are you saying all D40 2.5 autos are the same for 4x4?
I'm chasing a second hand one if anyone has one..

They're not ALL the same. They are all RE5R05A boxes, but there are some differences. Here's a table from the manual p347 of AT.PDF:

YD25 2WD - 95X09
YD25 4WD - 95X0B
VQ40DE 2WD - 97X0D
VQ40DE 4WD - 97X0E

I'd guess that if you could get the box from a diesel 4WD you'd be right.
