I haven't had a good chance to look because I'm busy doing a real PITA job right now but I think what I see from the manual I downloaded (which does only go up to the 08 revision) the reversing lights are still powered by the switch on the gear box. I'm not sure how easy that switch is to get access to because I haven't read that section yet.
There may be a point closer to the firewall in or near the super multiple junction that you can get to the wire but I need more time, or someone else with a clearer head to read the manual.
Something else that would help is a newer than 08 model D22 to look at but I haven't got one of those handy either.
