Hi guys,

While changing my oil today I found oil like substance on the ground and over the drivers cv and power steering boot.
Tracked down to a split CV boot.

How easy is it to replace one of these and what oil/ grease do I fill it with?

Is it better just to book it in for a repair?

I also have a split steering arm boot.
Quotes from Nissan for replacement boots:
Drive shaft boot $110 ish
Steering arm boot $217 ish!!

I choked a bit at that.

Anyone know where else I could get these parts?

I staked an inner CV boot doing the Border Track. It cost a small fortune to replace it.

Local Dealership couldn't even do it - they outsourced the job to a specialist

Doesn't sound good then.

Have found some boots in the UK for around $35 each so will get one and see what it is like.
Will also look for a local cv specialist and see what prices are like.

Found some Frontier steering arm boots in the states for $14.99 each.
Will get a couple and give them a go. Should be a good fit. If not then at
least I have something to bodge and make fit :)
