A while ago I tried to remove the RH mirror to replace the puddle light on my STX 550 Spanish build. It didn't turn out well because I broke the lens trying to get it out.
Contacted Nissan who only! wanted $272 just for the glass. Ebay came to the rescue at $30. After the new one arrived I tried to remove the old broken lens to no avail, the thing was so tight I thought I might damage the rest of it. After a light bulb moment I poured silicon spray over the inside of the mirror and it popped out quite easily after that.
So if anyone needs to remove the lens this might help. The trick is to lever it up from the bottom of the glass in the centre with a wide piece of flat metal. The clip is circular.
