I'd like to mount a second spare wheel, I tow a caravan so the carrier cant be the type that fits on the towbar hitch. The D40 ute tailgate appears to be quite sturdy...I'm thinking of simply getting a spare wheel mount off maybe a Patrol and, after installing some added support inside the tailgate, mounting the spare directly on the tailgate...anyone done anything like this??
