Does snorkel size matter?

Hi all,

I am looking to install a Stainless snorkel and aftermarket airbox combo to my YD25 D40.
From what I can find, the long entry snorkels are 4" all the way to the airbox, whereas the short entry is 4" down to 3" behind the guard into the airbox.

Would the YD25 benefit from 4" to the airbox, or would 3" suffice?

The restrictions inside the airbox are smaller than 3" anyway, so I can't imagine it would have too great an effect other than to speed up the airflow (which is the point of the baffling, to prevent induction noise from getting out).
