hello, d40 suspension

hi all my name is humey and i've just joined the site. i've got a 2008 d40 st-x and are looking at changing the suspension to give me a 2 inch lift. prob going to fit tough dog struts front and rear and coils from snakeracing. i would like to know if its a good idea to fit a 50mm extended shackle with a 50mm lifted leaf spring in the rear??

Welcome to the site. Do some homework on the suspension as I think extended shackles are an illegal fitment. Otherwise, and speaking as someone who has a 2" lifted D40, you are on the right as it makes a huge difference.

Extended shackles are definitely illegal in all states. Using them is your choice, the risk is not so much being pinged by cops at a roadside inspection, but having your vehicle scrutinised after a motor vehicle accident.

thanks for the information guys, i didn't know that extended shackles were illegal. i think i'll just put a standed height greaseable shackle in and get the lift from a larger leaf and shock.
