My starter motor has packed up so I bought a replacement. I have unbolted the old one and removed the wires but I cant get the damn thing out of the engine bay... Theres just no room to get it out no matter what angle or place I try to maneuver it through..

Anyone know where/how to get it out of the engine bay???

Last starter motor I changed was on a MQ Patrol, L28.

You can almost fit 2 L28's in the engine bay. Haha.

Probably easiest to access it from under the vehicle.

so turns out you need to move the steering shaft and some wires to slide it up through the top. Damn tight squeeze but once i got it out the new one took no time at all to put in and bolt back on.

The solution...
-Undo the two bolts at the top of the steering shaft and just push the shaft to the side.
-Remove the clips on the wiring harnesses so you can put the wires to the side too.
with a little bit of manouvering out she comes!

Undo the rubber shield that covers it from the wheel well and drop it out, removing the wheel makes it easier.
Had to do mine after I kept stalling trying to get over a underwater ledge.
