Is d40 diff the same as a 2009 d22 diff

Hi just wondering if a d40 front diff will fit in a 2009 d22 2.5 turbo diesel as I have stuffed mine and finding it hard to get parts for

Pretty sure they are both 4.375, wait for someone to verify that though.

you shouldn't have trouble finding one in any case, they are pretty common trucks.

I'm pretty sure the only difference in d22 diffs is between the petrol and diesel, the petrol diff are apparently the stronger out of the two, I'm just not sure if the ratio changes.
Admin Dave will be able to confirm as I know he has one in his shed

yep, it's Dave

the petrol diffs are different ratio to the diesel ones, they are longer but you will have to get front and rear in the same ratio otherwise you will stuff your transfer case chain when using 4wd

Cool cheers on the 2009 d22 2.5 litre diesel the ratio is 4.3 but I am not sure on the 3 liters ratio

both are 4.375

If im reading the service manual right its R180a front diff and C200 rear diff that you want

Fairly sure they are both 4.375, delay for someone to confirm that though.

you shouldn't have problems discovering one in any situation, they are pretty typical pickups.
