A freind owned a 2003 D22 and he bought Lok right auto loks. His navara got written off due to hail damage so now he has a Patrol with ARB air lokkas. He gave me the lok right auto loks (brand new)

Im told installation should cost between $300-$600 but I rang a couple places and they charge a fortune (1300+)

Anyone know of a fair 4x4 fitter who will do the job spot on without charging me an arm and a leg?

Cheers

These units are meant to be DIY.... did u get the installation manual?

The hardest thing is making sure that u keep the correct backlash between the Crown & Pinion.... if your not sure, then just find a local diff shop to set this up and it should only cost a minimal amt...

didnt get manual..thanks for the advice matey

Should be available online. If these are a replacement centre and the carrier doesn't have to be touched, you can DIY it easily and not have to change the R&P backlash.

what dion said, I'd email them and i'm sure they could email you the instructions. Job takes around 3 hours and its pretty easy for anyone that can swing a spanner. $1300? tell em they are dreaming.

haha I dont know much about 4x4 mods but even I know that you're right "THEY ARE DREAMING" I don't know who to call. I tried Goannawhere but they told me it has to be hoisted and fitted by a diff expert. Bit confused..
My freind who gave them to me went to NZ and wont be back for over a month and I want to have the job done by then

Just finished fitting mine...

Fitted the lokka into a spare diff over christmas. Fairly straight forward operation (once i got my vice properly mounted:cheers!:) maybe took 2-3 hours...

Today I changed the diff over on my own, took about 8 hrs including fitting two new engine mounts.

Broke 1 spanner (chinese crap) and skun one Knuckle, thats a pretty good result for me....

I could not see it taking a diff specialist more than 4 hours, add some sundries etc and it should be about a $400 dollar job..

If your still stuggling to find somebody PM me, I may know somebody over your way......

shouldnt be too hard, maybe even pull the front diff out yourself then get it fitted into that, will be allot cheaper then
