Hello everyone,
We are a company from WA specialising in manufacturing a range of performance exhaust systems & diesel tuning modules. Most modern 4x4 vehicles are covered, especially Navaras, and we have recently purchased a D40 2.5L Navara as a development vehicle.
In recent times we have begun to branch out into the remapping of the ECUs in vehicles, which is now a service we can offer in the Perth metro, and in Cunderdin, where we do our manufacturing.
For all enquiries, call 1300 310 330, or email [email protected]. Looking forward to being part of this forum, and answering any questions you may have!
Cheers,

welcome Edward
ecu remapping, that will make you popular around here
may I ask where your tunes come from?
cheers and enjoy the forum

Welcome aboard!

ECU remaps have not been common especially if Nissan get their hands back on the car and reset the thing. Good luck with it! It's good to have someone over that side of the sand to send people to for exhausts and stuff too.

Ecu remapping is the best way imo
it gives control over so much more than just fuel

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome, I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Our tunes come from Europe, we have a team of techs there who edit the original file that we read off the ECU, changing around 30 different parameters to give better power and economy (depending on the customer's needs & current modifications). We get the edited file back, and reflash the ECU with the updated tune.

The result? More power - usually north of 30kw and 50nm, depending on the vehicle, and generally 1 - 2L per 100km better fuel economy (our Navara regularly records around 8 - 8.5l/100km at 115km/h).

The issue of Nissan/the dealer resetting the ECU when the car goes in for a service is not too common, and usually only occurs in the 1 - 2 years after the vehicle's release. If this does happen, we will remap the ECU again for a token fee (to cover the labour component - the actual tuning has already been paid for!).

Some vehicles, notably the V6 3.0L V9X D40, can be remapped via the OBD port. In this case it is a very simple task to load the tune back onto the vehicle if it is ever overwritten.
And yes, while we also sell chips/diesel power modules, the ECU is a far more precise way of getting more power out of a vehicle, simply due to the number of parameters that can be adjusted, as compared to the one or two parameters that a chip controls. The advantage a chip has, is that it is plug and play, adjustable, and can be removed leaving no trace on the vehicle.

With this in mind, when we remap a vehicle, the dealer cannot tell, as we do not "lock" our tune to the ECU, rendering it unreadable.
For those wondering "why does my vehicle not come out with this 'power & economy' tune from the factory?" The answer is primarily emissions. The vehicle manufacturer will detune their engine to meet emissions compliance. By optimising the fuel delivery & other parameters, it is possible to increase the efficiency of the motor, and thus gain power and torque, while reducing fuel consumption, with no detrimental effects to the motor. Fitting a 3" performance exhaust also helps in this area too!

Any pics of the exhaust .

Can you do remote tunes for the 550 or do you need the vehicle.

Cheers
