Here is our Navara D40
After fitting all the usual stuff (Bar work, winch, lift kit, tyres, canopy and roof rack)
came few home made mods
)- Handle on driver side
Then came the idea of the rear swivel lights
They can be turned ON/OFF from inside the cab or from the tub
They can swivel up to light up the camp site better
Then during a night drive a I felt the need to have more light towards the inside of the corner where I was actually looking.
So I installed 2 "cornering lights" which are often used in rally cars to help the driver to see the upcoming corner.
These lights illuminate an area to the side of the vehicle, up to 80° of the direction of travel.
Then came the UHF
I installed the radio next to the steering arm. I wanted to keep it high enough in case of water entering the cab (ie. stuck in the middle of a water crossing).
I also installed an external 5 watts speaker to have it louder (ACDC fault).
And I wanted to be able to remove the mic when it's not needed so I installed a plug for that too.
At the Melbourne 4X4 show we managed to get very good deals with LRA and Kaymar so we had installed the Long Range Tank and the rear bar with the wheel fitted on the right hand side to keep the weight more balanced.
After that, well...Bugger me! I took on a project that cost me lots and lots of hours: custom made twin aluminium drawers with tub permanent set up of accessories.
Here are the drawers....
Then came the accessories as well: water tank with pump, dual batteries 2x 55Ah gel, compressor with air tank, canopy lights.
This is the water tank and pump.
Air compressor with no return valve and pressure switch with a 6 litres air tank with safety valve mounted underneath the tub and two output (Tub &b Bullbar) can be switched on/off from cabin or tub.
And I made a little control panel: Switches (left to right) Air Comp, Rear Lights, Canopy Lights, Water Pump, Spare. And they are all fused. Second batteries volt meter Water Level Indicator for water tank Air tank pressure Gas Bottle Port Compressed Air Port
Great work mgermasi, very neat and well thought out, you should be well proud of all that. The tourer (I'm guessing it's a tourer) is coming along really well.
Aren't those LED strips great, so bloody bright and cheap. And the drawers are great.
