I got my ute second hand about 18 mths ago and my guess is that it didn't come with a tray so they through on whatever they had laying around. Unfortunately what I ended up with was an old tip try that had been welded up and had a bit of paint brushed over the rust, It dosent really inspire confidence with this car yard I might add. So as I have a couple weeks off over christmas I thought why not do something about it.

So off came the tray to see how bad it was.

The tray also went on a diet I am guessing it lost around 70 or 80 kgs all up.

This is all the old tipping mechanism and brackets for the hydraulics.

It all worked out to be worth the effort it looks a hell of a lot better and is much more solid and dosent rattle as much as it did, of course its always good to not carry the equivalent of an extra person around in excess weight.

Hahaha the can was for size it being diet coke is quite symbolic don't you think. To give you an idea those plates at the end of the beams are 10mm thick.

10mm thick on the ends and held together by the paint in the middle. Damn the car cancer!
Top effort mate. Looks like a bought one !
