Hey guys,

I have a 2013 Navara D40, I'm looking at replacing the genuine Nissan crappy alloy bullbar that's currently on it with an ARB deluxe bullbar and winch.

Now, I understand that due to the weight of the winch and bullbar the car should either get lifted or front springs replaced, as I know this can lead to steering problems etc. Seen as both ARB and TJM offer the standard 3 or 4" lift for $2500, I'm considering going for the Pedders $495 front spring replacement which will alleviate the weight.

I am a little price conscious and I know lifting will make a difference but for me I don't think it is worth the extra $2000 when I don't plan to do any hardcore off road stuff.

So has anyone done this before? and if so what is your experience with it?

Thanks in advance,
Leo

ring john at zordos and have a chat. plenty of people here have got there suspension done through him. he even has a thread on here where u can ask him stuff

wouldnt touch pedders at all, there are so many other brands out there that specialise in 4x4 stuff that will do just as good price wise but give you a better longer lasting coil, try Dobinson they use Aussie steel and allot of other manufacturers use there coils matched up with their own shocks.

Also if you do change your coil you really will need to change the strut as well to match the valving to suit your heavier coil rating.

On other thing to consider is the TJM bar as it sits closer to the car increasing your approach angle, after owning teo D40 both with ARB bars i ended up calling them Mr Plough!! lol
and the TJM bar has recovery points built in to the cradle, I wished i put the TJM on my D40's.
I have one now on my ranger and they are great bars.

I have dobinsons springs , leafs and the new iron man foam cell pro shocks and struts and im happy. Hope this helps. Ive changed my front springs recently by zordo but the leafs are dobinsons medium and about 2 yrs old the have settled well and ride nice now i have weight in the back

I have the TJM bar over the ARB and what their saying about the approach and weight etc is so true. I went TJM my dad went ARB and the TJM is the Bee Knees! Awesome bar.

I had a 2 inch lift put in and chose to have the Extra Heavy duty TJM XGS Gold front springs to take the weight at the front. Their a little hard around town at the moment but plan to fit a winch soon so should be better then but worth a thought.
