navara d40 rear seals

hey guys im new to the site & loving the information i can find on it!!

I've just found out my rear wheel seals are stuffed on my navara d40 stx v6 auto & the nissan dealership told me i need to replace the axles because they are a crap set up at a big expense.does anyone know of a diff conversion done on the d40 or a other option than getting the nissan axles from spain at a huge expense??

Welcome to the forum, Smoothie.

What year model is it? If it's a 2006 model, then surprise surprise, Nissan did a recall on it as you can see here and here.

That second link details the VIN ranges of the affected vehicles:

From VSKCLAD40A0025460 to VSKCLAD40A0053741,
From VSKCLND40A0033906 to VSKCLND40A0055143, SKCLND40A0900600,
From VSKCVND40A0025461 to VSKCVND40A0055115, VSKCVND40A0900655

I think the last one on the middle row is a typo, and should start with 'V' as well - you'll notice that it's only 16 characters long, all the others are 17.

Mine has had that recall,before i owned it though.
It has a sticker on the drivers door frame to show the recall was done.
If yours hasn't had the recall DEMAND that they do it.
It should have been done long ago.

ive done 66000 ks and these seals are leaking- rear diff pinion( changed at 30000 by nissan under warranty,all gearbox and transfer shafts seals(3). what happened to nissans reputatin for good tuff vehicles?
