New bloke needs help

G'day everyone ....I drive a 3l str diesel which now has 140000km on the clock ...recently started missing in 3rd & 4th gears between 60-80 kph usually under load or on an incline. Have replaced all filters & run engine purge through system ...but no joy. Seems as though engine is being starved of fuel or air. Local Nissan dealer is stumped as he's never seen this problem before.. can anyone offer any suggestions...???

Try a search under Gearbox Switch. This has been discussed on occasion and the problem may be a switch on top of the gearbox at fault sending an incorrect signal to the control unit.

Ahh, ok I found the other thread first. NPS would be my guess, and admins, maybe hide the other thread?

Do you have the service history of it? If its got those sort of K's you might be due for a set of injectors and valve adjustment. failing that get a boost gauge and check what the turbo is doing. if your under full load and getting more that 17 pound if might be starving for fuel which can be catistrophic
