I'm after some custom torsion bars. I've read on the forum a mention that there is only a couple of manufacturers of torsions in Oz. Does anyone know who they are?

Thanks in advance.

Cant tell you Jase.

Heard it many times.

Peter Aawen on Yotamonthly would probably know.

You bought yourself a D22 didn't you.

Lep - what the hell are you doing now? You can't turn the Jeep into an off-road buggy!

Make them yourself you lazy bastard.

Isn't dobinsons in rocky one of the few?

My understanding is that they are suppliers---rebadged

There is alot of tooling required to make a torsion bar.

and milling the splines isn't preferred.... they are rolled and either broached or post ground

Thanks for the reply, Have ordered some from the states. They are for a mates buggy that I get to wheel @ the Portland dunes over Christmas.

And yep I'm part owner of a Deckel, so broaching splines isn't an issue, I've never made torsions though, done heaps of input shafts and axles over the years.

Hey Jase.

Since you work for the CSIRO, man made Climate Change.

Load of shit or what ?

Personally I think its natural.

Who knows?, but it keeps me in a job.
4 years ago all our projects were on saving water, now its clean energy, in 10 years time it will probably be something like recycling mobile phones into prosthetic limbs.
