Last few days ive noticed a change in my clutch. When i change gears the clutch goes in but when i release the pedal it engages quicker than before and if i dont hold it for longer than normal it would bite and jump a little. I havent done anything out of the ordinary just driving to and from work. The clutch was replaced a few years ago to a excedy heavy duty. Any ideas what it could be?

Hows your clutch fluid. Might have air in the system, it absorbs water to, same as brake fluid. I'd replace it to start with and bleed all the air out.

sounds like its either the clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder leaking air or maybe fluid. the master cylinder is the unit where the fluid is stored and the slave is mounted on the side of gearbox bell housing. check your fluid level first as it could be near empty then check both units for any fluid leakage areas.

The master was the first thing I checked and the fluids are right. Ill get it checked out, hoping its what you gents have described! Thanks!

Took it to a clutch specialist and on the way there it went back to normal operation? Still let the guy take it for a spin and he said everything was fine so will just monitor the situation, not complaining about that outcome!

Mine is like that on and off, iiv also had mine in with the gearbox guys a few times and they say the same thing that all is good it mainly seams to be going back to first, reverse and from third to second. Thought it might have been the clutch but that didn't help! It's not too bad I just find my self changing the oil a lot more then I should Iv also put a new slave cylinder and master cylinder in also as said above id just flush and bleed the fluid real good other then that I'm just going to drive it till it breaks as I keep getting told its fine. Hope it gets better fore ya mate

I had this problem a couple of years ago, so bit the bullet and put a new clutch plate in. The plate was fine when we pulled it out, but the problem was it had been installed with neva seeze and it went hard and prevented the clutch plate from sliding freely on the shaft.

another option is to add some [ easy shift ] gearbox oil additive to your gearbox oil . this is commonly used by the Subaru WRX guys and it does work wonders with harder than normal gear shifting. its not allways the clutch at fault.

Interesting information there guys. Something to take note of if it happens again
