Im looking at buying a rear bar for my 2011 STR

There isn't many options available, I have found 2 that im interested in, has anyone got any pics of these on there cars, any advice on another of the shelf option?

1: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120828390391#ht_1101wt_1180

2: http://www.arb.com.au/products/arb-...ar-protection-equipment/step-tow-bar/3638040/

I have emailed the people selling the first one, they have confirmed it fits the Thia built models but Im unsure of how it would look on the car, it certainly looks the part in the add, probably look even nicer with some checker plate on top as well.

Cheers in advance

I've got the ARB bar on order, still waiting for the damn thing to come in, although the more reviews I read on them the more I'm thinking it was a bad decision.

Check out this thread, http://www.navara.asia/showthread.php?t=8117
If I had've seen that before I might have got one of them instead, everyone seems to have great things to say about them.

I contacted the manufacturers of the one on ebay, its made by MCC 4x4, they emailed me a local reseller here in WA, if anyone is interested -> http://www.sportsrange.com.au

I have contacted them, im just waiting for there reply, would be nice if they have one in stock so I could actually se it for real

Heres a link to the manufacturers website -> http://www.mcc4x4.com

There is photos on there site with it installed on a vehicle, there is also 3 other types that fit the D22, there is a styled rear bar that mimics the factory look, looks nice, theres also 2 different ones with spare wheel and fuel can carriers on swing gates, they also look nice, they would be ideal if you have a canopy on the back.

I never heard of them until today, apparently they make pretty good gear.

I emailed the mss mob and got I different outcome from them about that exact rear bar and also the spare wheel style. They told me that it would have to by modified at my cost to suit the Thai built model. Which meant me buying from them then taking it to a fabricator and having them cut and weld it all to fit. I would check just to make sure

Yeh I've checked your bar out Scotty, nice, definitely more attractive than the ARB, nicely made and looks tuff, unfortunately I need one now as I want to claim it on my tax, there is also the issue of transport cost, I can get the MCC bar here in Perth for $890, to get a bar of any type from the eastern states its 300 to 450 for transport, it would put yours above the ARB in pricing, I do like it, if there was one on the shelf here I would probably purchase it.

As far as the MCC not fitting, both MCC themselves and Sportsrange here have assured me it fits, if not then I will modify it, I have a Mig, Oxy and grinders, mag drill... I work in the mining industry and I modify and fabricate machinery everyday.

I could make my own bar but I have no time to really stuff about these days, I just want to leave this stuff up to the pros, they all do a nice well finished job

Scotty i did notice in your pics that you are using mandrel bends butt welded to the tube, is it strong enough? I would've probably supported the tub wrap around back to the chassis like the TJM/ARB/MCC bars do, this would provide extra side impact protection.
