Hi all
Just got my D40 back from its major service. All is well except i asked them to look at the slight rough idle it has when its cold.
They have turned around and told me 2 of the injectors have failed some test.
The car drives pretty well and i usually get over 700kms out of a full tank (2.5 diesel).
They have quoted me about $4k to replace all of the injectors including various parts.
Does this sound right? Has anyone had to get this done?
I'm pretty good in the engine bay.. is there a write up to do this yourself?

hey mate,i just had my seals on the injectors replaced which was 4hrs (90 per hrx4=360) labour,i dont see labour being much longer if at all to remove the injectors as id expect they would have to be removed to replace seals anyway.so thats the labour side of things, injectors for me i was qouted 290 per injector (x4=1160).
Keep in mind that is for a D22 however i dont think you would be looking at much more time in labour for your engine and ive seen yd25 (this is your engine right?) on ebay for 330 each.

long and the short that price is rediculas IMO but i dont know much about your engine
hope this helps

and for me id rather leave injectors to a diesel specialist as i dont know much about diesels and i think its just one of those things thats not worth playing with yourself but that is just me.

My 2007 auto D40 with DPF had the same rough idle when cold since I bought it in 2008 so I never knew there was a problem until it started to get worse. I had mine replaced about 3 months ago - Cost me almost $2500 for labour, Nissan paid for parts, but I had to go to the dealership for Nissan to cough up some good will. Car runs so much smoother at all revs, but economy hasn't changed much that I've noticed unless on a smooth freeway & not towing. Normal town driving I get 12.5-13l/100km, the same as before the repair

My 08 D40 STX diesel was pumping black smoke and stalling at low speed when warm, took it to a superb diesel injection specialist who tried to fault find which injector was playing up. Unfortunately, ended up having to replace all four as he couldn't isolate the dicky injector. Just over $2k for the whole job which included dyno at the end. Very pleased with result, didn't muck about with dealer as I would prefer an independent operator who is a specialist and still put the proper denso injectors in anyway. If you were in WA, I could highly recommend http://www.fremantlefuel.com.au/index.html. If not, hunt around. I found the various 4WD retailers usually have a good idea who the good mechanics are. Wouldn't go near a DIY myself, especially with common rail pressures.

I had mine rebuilt with new tips @ prime fuel injection in Archerfield (07) 3277 3132 for $1320. I did the R&R. Incidently, @ 27k, flow was down 25% from new.

Injector Part Numbers

Quoted about $4K for injector replacement.

Could anyone help me with a part number for the injecotrs off a 2007 STX Dual Cab (Spanish) 2.5 Turbo Diesel. Mine have been tested and are no good. The best Nissan can do is $600 each.

I think i have found some on EBAY but am hoping to get a part number to confirm if they'll suit.

My ute is at the dealer and has been all week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunatly, you need to remove an injector to get the part number(s), new ones can be obtrained from Ebay but need to be tuned in using the Nisssan Consult program a as well, not a cheap option.
