G, day folks,

My wife and I fly back up to Brisbane today to start my first of 5 Remicade infusion treatments. These will be conducted at the Wesley hospital and my first one is on Thursday morning.

I have spent 8 days out of the last 2 weeks bed ridden due to this dreaded Crohns disease. I am sick and tried of all the medication and the constant feeling of being so tired and fatigued. I have to constantly reminding myself that thier is always someone far worse than myself(especially children.)

My family/friends and I are hoping that this course of treatment over the next 4 months, helps put this shit-full disease back into remission. I have never felt so depressed and so hopeless as a human being to what as occurred to me over the last 6 months.

This website and it’s amazing members have been like a breath of fresh air at times, especially when I have been struggling to cope with life in general (especially on my dark days.)

See you all in 3 days’ time!

Regards,

RLI

Keep fighting mate. It will all be worth it in the end! Just think about all that gear you have to play with in your garage to keep you sane! We're thinking of you. Good luck in hospital.

Thumbs up...and not up there.

Just had a friend go in for ops on this and it's tough, really tough.

Hang in there mate. Only last week had my nephew go in for operations on his split bowel from his chrones disease. It's shit stuff and it does get better.

Goodluck and get well soon

Thanks lads!

G, day folks,

Firstly, thanks for your kind thread replies of support. My family and I are very humbled.

Secondly, I had my first infusion last Thursday and so far so good. My specialist has advised my wife and me that I should notice a difference after the third infusion.

Thirdly, my wife and I see my surgeon this late this afternoon regarding having that dam drain removed from inside my arse! We are hoping to have it removed ASAP as it has been 6 months since it was installed.

Finally, my family and I are heading off to the Anzac day dawn service in the morning; it is the first time that I am taking my two young daughters to the service, I am sincerely looking forward to it. I wish you all a very happy Anzac day.

PS, gents! Please do not hesitate to seek out medical assistance when it come to your own personal health issues i.e. bowel or prostrate related problems. LEAVE YOUR PRIDE AT HOME AND BE A REAL MAN AND SEEK HELP!

Regards,

Paul (RLI)

Words of wisdome mate... We all think we are bullet proof but you are right nothing more important than your health..good luck and Best wishes to you and your family. Keep your chin up mate and stay strong and above all NEVER GIVE UP anything in possible...

your a very inspirational fella mate. the way you are dealing with this issue has certainly made me think about how i react to issues that are way simpler and smaller than yours! make sure that you keep on keeping on!

3 Infusion on Thursday.

I will be quite again for the next 4 days. My wife and I head back to the Wesley hospital in Brisbane tomorrow for my 3rd Remicade infusion. The infusion is on Thursday it usually takes me a day to recover from the side effects i.e. severe hot palms of your hands and hot souls of your feet. It is impossible to sleep but it is only a small price to pay when it gives you quality of life.

PS, Looking forward to picking up my camper trailer on Saturday afternoon from my mate Rob who has just installed the new Cruisemaster suspension system. Yee haw baby, bring on those camping trips!

Regards,

RLI
