Squealing noise only when engine is hot

Hi guys,

Is anyone familiar with this noise? Only appears when they engine is really hot and when the turbo is boosting.

The turbo is replaced not long ago and I can’t see any exhaust leaks around the egr or exhaust manifold.

When I turn the engine off I can hear a quite buzzing noise from the turbo area, kind of like compression leaking through the cylinders or something along those lines

The engine is overall quite powerful but blows a bit of smoke.

Uphill on 6th gear it will just drop all power instead of almost stalling (safety function) but as soon you put it back in 5th she rides up the hill easily

After replacing the boost solenoid it’s not only hissing for a split second compared from what it did before.

I’m thinking maybe it’s a over boosting sound?

I have played around with the actuator rod now so maybe it’s out of whack.

Is the purpose of the boost solenoid to prevent overboost?

Should the actuator rod be lengthen or shorten to lower the boost?

It sounds like a boost leak. Intercooler connections, perhaps?

The rod pulls up to open the vanes. A shorter rod means more open - so lengthening the rod will reduce the amount of opening.
