Hi all,

Cant make my mind up on which Width & Diameter to go, I am thinking either

265/70R17 (31.6") or
245/70R17 (30.5")
Stock Rims.
Stock Suspension.

Used as the every day car (only car) and off roading every 3-4 weeks.

Wider looks better IMO. The d40 at work has 245/75/16 in cooper st maxx they look small verses my 265/75/16 cooper st maxx on my d22.. Plus that little bit of extra tyre height gives you a little bit more body clearance,

In Qld the law is you can go bigger but not smaller so it might be worth looking into it if you want 245mm. or did you decision just get easier.....

Leaning more towards the 265 for the extra clearance for body, diff etc.

From what I have read 265/70R17 will fit the D40 2012 ST with no scrubbing is that correct?

I called RMS to check for legal tire size increase they told me its 7% +/- OD

I ve got 245/70/17 Goodyear Adventures on a 550 . Current fashion is to go wide but in reality narrow probably performs better is cheaper and results in better fuel economy . Tyre I use has fairly chunky thread and does not look out of place on a D40. I would not consider 265/70/17 to be too large but anything bigger is not likely to be an improvement in performance.

Talking to a fella at work and explained some other information about differences and what you have said and decided to go with the 245/70R17.

Thank you every one for your input
