Been chasing an annoying vibration in my ute. Originally thought it was a wheel balance thing, as I can feel it in the steering wheel, also can feel it in the car, but three wheel places and 3 different balances later it's still doing it. Replaced the idler arm, had rotors machined but it is still there.
Got under the old girl this afternoon to check tailshaft and universals. All seem good, centre bearing seems ok aswell. One thing I did notice is that the rear tailshaft has a small amount of play where it comes out of the transfer case, I.E I guess the bearing has a bit of play. Is this normal or should it be 100% movement free? Who thinks it could be the cause of my problems?
