Turbo Rebuild

Hey all,

Im going to need to take my turbo to bits, it leaking oil, especially from the top, around the oil inlet.

I figure I need to pull it apart and rebuild it, possibly the bearings (and seals) are hardened.

I was looking at rebuild kits on fleabay and I dont think thats what im looking for, I think I want to do seals n stuff, not so much the internals.


If anyone else has the same problem, let me know, I need to sort this oil usage thing presto.

I noticed on fleabay there were some new turbo's from about $500 maybe you should look at one of them.

If it was me. Id send the turbo off to get hi-flowed and they will make sure its balanced.

The compressor wheel spins at around 50,000rpm, you dont want that prick hitting the housing.

you sure its the turbo leaking oil and not just the oil from the breather covering the turbo ?

Tweak, it could be, I may have to take it off.

How hard is it to replace??
