"VROOM" noise when hubs are locked

hey guys

just got back from yalwal and ive noticed the noise i heard at fraser island earlier this year got a lot louder.
it only occurs when the hubs are locked in, either in 2wd and locked or 4 and locked.

The noise is a.... vroom vroom vvroom vroom noise, occurs on both sides i believe it got worse when i went through some big muddy bog holes. Not noticeable at slow crawling speed but when i get on some smooth road and speed to to over 30 its very noticeable.

im going to a workshop tomorrow to put the hubs apart as since ive owned them i have never touched them.

would it be the diff bearings or Dry CV joints or bushes?? im not familiar with drivetrain terminology so if you could fill me in that would be smick.\\

when was the prop shaft greased last?

would not have a clue. certainly not in the last 20,000km since ive owned it.

Pull the free hubs apart give them a clean then regrease the splines. See how that goes.
