Zd30 not making boost

Hi all. New to the forum.

I'm a mechanic by trade and own a 2007 d22 3.0T zd30

I'm getting a very low boost pressure of max 12psi. Was wondering what the standard pressure is? I read somewhere 16-18? Vehicle seems to run out of puff pretty quickly.

Butterfly and swirl mod done, 3" turbo back and egr blocked.

J thought ot may have been the boost sensor on the inlet manifold, brand new one fitted but same symptoms.

Any ideas?

2007.....you would have one of the last ones. they stopped making them in 2007.

first thing to check is neutral position switch (NPS). heaps of info on here about it.
stock boost is 15psi or so, often a bit higher with mods.

Well the navara is a mystery.

It's a manual for the record.

Last night I stuck on a turbo smart boost controller. Gave it around 6 clicks and it's now finally making boost and goes very well at 14psi.

I just wonder now why it won't make stock boost without the controller?

boost leak? measure boost a the turbo and at the map sensor.
i wonder if the turbo housing has moved a bit. a few have commented on loose turbo bolts before.
