Hi anyone tell me how to stop drivers mirror from folding in
I am sick of winding down every time a truck goes by

Just pulled 1/2 the thing apart and could not find any way to tighten the thing
Or get the glass out so pulled on glass it came out but cracked not happy

Mine don't move at all unless i press the switch near the ignition barrel.
Does the passenger side do the same thing?

There is instructions somewhere on this site for dismantling the mirror if you are headed down that path just trying searching the D40 section for "mirror replacement" or some such term.

If yours is moving every time a truck passes I'd suggest it's broken somewhere around the pivot and that your only fix would be a backyard job otherwise it's a new mirror housing because they are pretty simple devices and there is not much in them.

My mirrors would flick back every time I passed a large truck on our first big trip away with our Navara - the result of using strap-on mirrors attached to the factory units. I quickly removed them and went to truck-style mirrors.

This is what caused the problem:

As for how to make it stiffer - I don't know. One of the members here - Jjohn if I recall - has disassembled the mirrors and will know more.
