Can anyone confirm the size of the socket needed to manually turn over a TD27? I've lost my calipers, but seems to be about 40mm. Would this be right?

Well, I bought the 40mm socket and it fits, with a bit of gentle persuasion.

Now I just need a 3/4 inch breaker bar.

You know, I really should, shouldn't I. I'll add it to the list.

Not something I've done before. Is it just the seals at the front and rear of the crankshaft?

Should be only them and the sump gasket, suppose it wouldn't hurt to do the timing case gasket aswell.

Very good. I've pulled off the EGR, so I'm also going to pull off the intake manifold and give it a clean up as well.
