just hard wire into the cab, I used the diagram from action DIY weekend warriors worked a treat.
My control box gave up as well, corrosion on the terminals of the winch itself and on the connections inside the control box. I'm not risking it, I'm taking that winch to the tip tomorrow and I've already bought another.
I am keeping the control box so I can see how it all works but that's an idle-time project and I don't have a lot of idle at the moment.

I use awhite one from jaycar.ip 66 rated box I think bout $30.works very well.my winch came with a "waterproof" box with holes everywhere.couldnt see the point of using it when I probably use the remote mainly.circuit boards like to be dry.
