I spent ages in the damn heat changing wheels from my Patrol to my Navara. Got all 4 patrol wheels on the Nav and the 2 rears on the patrol before I realised that the Nav alloys will not fit over the hubs on the patrol.

It gave me the sh!ts

The patrol can stay on jack stands till next weekend. Im not changing them all back now!!!

The STR spins the wheels on take off now. Thats where the 33"s seem to make the most difference in comparison. Normal driving not that much difference I dont think. Will see during the week.

How come you put the Patrol wheels on the Nav mate? They look alright but they would look better with something other that a H/T pattern.

More chance of waring out on the nav mate. Then I can tell the wife that I need new tires.

I just thought id see what they looked like on but got too hot changing them to change them back

I bought some 16" GU steel rims for the navara a while back but I have since sold them as I didn't like the wide offset for throwing rocks into the side of the car and also have concerns about wheel bearing wear that can be avoided with the correct offset wheel. Something to think about.

I had my wheel bearings checked last service, said they were all perfect. ive been on -25 offset for 35000ks. I think itd take alot of offset, like wheelspacers etc to make a great difference in the lifespan of the bearings.

Fair enough, I don't know what the offset was on the GU rims but it made it steer like a dog and increased the turning circle way too much for my liking. Each to their own.

Should have abit more grunt now Laith with the smaller tyre's.

I miss my worn Cooper's for excelleration for over taking Dawdling Yota driver's.

Dave.

I took them off after a week.

My STR alloy rims would not fit over the hubs on the Patrol so I couldn't move it.

Did have a bit more acceleration. They spun fairly easy compared to my others.

I just put some GU steel rims and 31's on my d22, goes great! Just gotta get them balenced as they make a bit of vibration at 100, but will get that sorted. Had to mod the mud flaps as it didnt quiet make full lock with standard suspension and ARB bull bar weighing it down but that was easy enough, i think a snake racing 3inch lift should help the situation abit too!
