There should always be a minimum thickness, if u machine a fly wheel to thin it can shatter as it can't dissipate heat enough. Hopefully the machine shop will know the spec or maybe a generic spec for the flywheel. I'm a HD mechanic and normally we have a special to follow.

seems thats the option ill take. best way to remove the pump is to follow the vp44 service manual or is there a tutorial on here somewhere? Any tips?

Yep... spoke to soon, no power once its warm. The last 2 days were pretty cold and had no problem. Bit warmer today and its come back. Anyone know anything about the electronics side of the pump? And where in the service manual the info on it is?

Just an update, Cleaned the crank angle sensor and have been driving around the past two days and have had no dramas. Hopefully the problem is resolved. Ill take it for a decent drive on the weekend and see how it goes. Thanks again for all the advice.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. Pulled out the sensor, cleaned and tested. All good on the test, haven't driven it yet though. Today I managed nearly 20 kilometres before the power went down though. Hopefully this clean up will help if not ill have to look more into the pump. Hopefully the...

I thought it was the neutral switch on the gearbox? I tested it with the heat switch, and disconnected it as it was playing up in 3rd and 4th, but even with it disconnected its still occurring. Seems to be ok if the car has been sitting for a bitter bit. Soon as it gets to operating temp though...

Hey all, I'm having an issue with my d22 3ltr where it is having intermittent power loss while driving, like the turbo has suddenly stopped. ECU it throwing a 0702 fault code, top dead centre pulse signal (incorrect signal from the Injection Pump Control Unit) Any ideas??
