ZD30 Upgrade power options or buy a New Vehicle

Can't thank everyone enough for the advice and recommendations.! Not to mention a phone call from HPD in Adelaide I received yesterday. In summary the plan is: - check for air leakage (hoses/clamps/turbo/filter, etc), boost leakage / pressures - remove manifold and clean thoroughly - check...

ZD30 Upgrade power options or buy a New Vehicle

Many thanks mate. And thanks to Boogieboots, Dattorob, and Izzibri for the suggestions. Really appreciate it. I'll certainly take these to a shop to look at. Hopefully I can find a shop that will go the whole way and check everything 100%.. If all that turns out ok, the next step will be...

ZD30 Upgrade power options or buy a New Vehicle

Hi All. I have owned my Navara ST-R 3.0lt ZD30DDT 2005 since new. It has only 205,000kms and still in excellent condition. Apart from power loss there is nothing wrong with it.! I need some advice though as general lay person opinions vary greatly and I cannot seem to get a straight answer...

    COOPER STT Armor-Tek3 265/75R16's

Have had the Cooper ST Maxx's 265/75/16's on the Nav now for 6 weeks. Drove from Bateman's Bay to Hobart with a mix of bitumen, sand, dirt, and mud... All towing the camper trailer, and without for around 1/4 of that. And I have to say.. MANY THANKS to Chris at Moruya NSW Beaurepaires because...

    DCchip vs Tuneit Chip

Well, as of tonight I just removed the DP Chip harness and sending it all back for a refund. Whilst power certainly improved, my fuel economy unloaded went down by 50-70kms a tank. Towing my camper trailer (850kg) it was woeful. I managed to get 350kms to a tank. At power setting 8 it also...

    Pirana Dual Battery Tray

Hey Ridgie. I notice you've moved the fuel filter. Did you need to make up another bracket, or just moved the existing one and bolted it to the battery tray?

    Redarc bcdc1220

Geez mate that's a bit spooky. I was just reading your reply to Palmaa221 about his dual battery install question. I am going to have four batteries to charge simultaneously however off the alternator when driving, which is why I was looking at the Redarc 1220 in both the car and trailer...

    Redarc bcdc1220

Gday Terry, My alternator is the standard Hitachi 60Amps, and the fridge is a Matson 65L. 5.5Amps / 65watts with 12v input. So you reckon that just a standard isolator for the battery under the bonnet instead of the BC 1220? There are so many opinions, it is very hard to know which way to go...

    Generators

I am looking at purchasing a portable generator around the 2000W region for use to charge all my batteries when out bush. So far I have looked at the Genquip and Honda. There doesn't seem to be too many threads on generators so I was wondering if anyone has any experience and or...

    Redarc bcdc1220

Interesting comments.. I was under the impression that the BC-1220 and similar DC to DC chargers still charge at the 12 - 14volts but are able to increase current to the battery so that your alternator doesn't need to work so hard.? i.e. I am installing a dual battery under the hood, and a...

    Which Leaf Springs?

Last weekend fitted: Tough dog foam cells front and torsion bars. Tough dog adjustables rear and 0-300kg springs. New ubolts, greasable shackles, and bush set. Drives nice.. Only got 21mm lift on the rear however..! But to their credit 4Way's are onto it. Taking the car back to OL in Hobart...

    3" Exhausts and low RPMs

Well followed your advice and I took the Nav down as recommended and they very confidently said to put in a DP chip. Apparently Tune It is made by DP. Anyway so far so good. What a difference.! Shane was laid back as we looked at the dyno printout. He was like 'try it first and see what it tows...
