On my D40, using a Redarc isolator, I bent over one of the tabs at 90 degrees and then fitted it to the battery hold down clamp, seemed the easiest place to fit it away from everything else.

Is the noise present through all the gears? Or , only in particular gears? Does it come and go with acceleration/ deceleration? Does the noise alter cornering? Does it come and go at certain speeds? All this information will help with the diagnosis.

Make sure it has the child restraint mounts, as some Thai built D40's Don't.

Kane, I'd be having a real good look around the EGR pipe and gaskets. Especially as the noise has popped up after the mod, and appears to be from the area.
