This is a really interesting threat. My 06 d22 has some fairly severe rust problems which ive grinded back and painted or repkaced parts as I work on it. The main worry is definitely the chassis rails though. Woukd be interested to see how much this treatment will actually cost you in the end

Was that beaudesert 2.75? What other mods have you got? chip installed?

Also depends in how long your gona have the car and if you do alot of 4wding. Persobally if you dont have bash plates id go mild steel rather than stainless. If you hit a decent rock or what not and dent or crack a piece it will cost you less to replace and the performance should be the same.

Do you reckon those sort of problems (as in something running off the fanbelt has a bearing on its way out or is moving properly) would be more noticeable at idle? I would think so? Does anyone think checking valve clearances might help him out? Not an expert just chipping in my 2c

My 06 zd30 d22 blows no smoke at all. The onky time ive ever seen it is revving the box of it trying to get out of soft sand in low range. Was pretty black so could have well been unburnt diesel

2006 3L diesel 600km Mainly highway driving although it doesnt seem to make too much difference.

Hey mate I've got an 06 DX dual cab and might be looking at a dodgey head as well. Was thinking of do gauges too. Where did you buy the pod from? And which gauges did you put on? Egt and boost? Or egt and water pressure?

ive had the same problem on a trip up to exmouth. driving at around 95-100 towing a boat. starting hitting the top of the guage and just when its about to go off the top of the normal bracket (as its still very hot but theres extra past the bracket) it would drop rapidly. without slowing down...

id also be interested to see how it goes, have noticed plenty of people talk about exhausts and mentioned 2.5" id like to upgrade to a 3" high flow system for the performance side, but arent keen on massive amounts of noise. plus i can get it put in while they do my towball
