    They should be fine.

    Simpson Desert - July 2013.

Hello Pete - you don't need muddies for the desert - infact AT's are better if you have the air pressures right. As for winding torsion bars and shackles - talk to your local suspension dealer. Extended shackles are illegal in some states. Winding up torsion bars will reduce the travel -...

    Simpson Desert - July 2013.

Your vehicle does not need to be anywhere near as modded as mine was - I did a fair amount of high country travelling and that is more damaging than the desert. Upgraded shocks would be a good idea as they do work pretty hard. It is worth stopping every 90 - 120 minutes to let them cool down...

New quality aftermarket shocks are a good suggestion. Taking time to stop every couple of hours to let components cool down is also worth the effort. IMHO any more than two jerry's of fuel is overkill.

    Simpson Desert - July 2013.

G'day Pete, A great trip - and well worth the effort. The key is weight - don't carry stuff you won't need or use. There is plenty of fuel on the way up and back. You won't need three jerries of fuel - two will be more than enough - there is fuel at Mt Dare & Birdsville. I used 85 litres to...

3" calmini vs snakeracing. which is better?

Aren't Calmini & Snake Racing the same bits - all from Calmini. Buy direct from the Calmini website. Make sure your shockers match the lift.

Strooth - been awhile since I updated!! Fitted a Tigerz11 12000lb winch with rope - which will get taken off soon for a new home. Now running Maxxis 980 A/T's in 265/70/16. Put the muffler back on. Fitted a new uhf and antenna - GME TX3100 & AE4018K1. Anyone could think I was preparing it...

    Rough ride

Sounds pretty much the set up I have. Chuck some gear in the back and it'll be fine mate - you'll get used to it.

    Rough ride

I've got the EFS heavy duty, with a canopy fitted and Bilstein shocks on my 2006 D22 - I don't find it too harsh at all. I guess it can come down to what we expect from our leaf sprung commercial vehicle. I will admit it is better with a load in the back. I'd be worried about what will happen...

Howdy - so what sort of km's are blokes getting from a set of these? What's your review? Cheers.

    aggressive all terrains

Yep - they are LT. Why? I found myself asking why 265/75? There was a 3 - 4 week wait for 75's - the 70's were next day delivery. I've always had muddies in 75. Went to an AT to reduce road noise, nicer drive and not doing the same amount of high country off-roading as I used to so I really...

    aggressive all terrains

I have a set of Maxxis 980 A/T. 265/70/R16 at @ $270 each. Only done about 1500k but so far I'm very pleased. Good tread depth and pattern. Although I'm not sold on the writing on the out.
