    Who services your d22?

I get a 4wd specialist to do the log book servicing. When warranty runs out I will do the minors and let him do the majors. I'm with you Dave, can't be buggered muckin around with diff, transfer etc. I will never let a dealer touch her again. They have done more harm than good.

    A/T tyre advice

I went with Maxxis as they were one of the cheaper tyres out there whilst still seemed to have a bit of quality about them. It was a tough decision as I knew that I would be subjecting these tyres to some pretty harsh, remote country. I decided I didn't want to be forking out $400 plus a tyre if...

    A/T tyre advice

Cheers for the equation Old Tony. From your previous posts i've read I wouldn't have thought that would slip past you. I've decided to get 6 tyres as I do alot of really remote exploring and the security of an extra spare was difficult to pass up. The salesman has talked me into a set of maxxis...

    maxxis buckshot mudder

Nah bit different. The bighorns are a little more aggressive and have deep side lugs. The buckshot seem to be pretty popular over in the states but i haven't heard much about how they handle aussie conditions.

    maxxis buckshot mudder

That sounds like what i'm after. If anyone has any info regarding wear and tear and how much mileage they get. I'll have to see tomorrow how much they want for em.

    maxxis buckshot mudder

Anyone had any experience with these tyres? Can't find a reference to them anywhere in here. I have a set of bravo 751's on order but the salesman is trying to talk me into putting these on instead. Just wondering if they are a useless tyre and he is trying to clear stock. Let me know you're...

    clicking noise on cold engine

When I first got my 08 d22 I was listening for every little knock, clunk, buzz and chirp. After getting my timing chain, diff and water pump replaced, i've come to the realisation that these trucks are rattly and a bit noisy. It's just the way they are. Only time will tell how reliable they end...

    A/T tyre advice

I've decided on a set of Maxxis Bravo AT 265/75/16LT. In regards to the increased fuel consumption, did you get the speedo recalibrated to suit as if not it would directly affect your calculations. Unless you use GPS for speed/distance. I only went with the 75 profile as it seems they are the...

    A/T tyre advice

Was talking to the tire guy today and he reckons I shouldn't put on 265/75's on as it will mess too much with the gearing. I can sort of see his point as they are a larger diameter, but not that much. It only works out to be an inch taller and the tyre seems way stronger. I told him that I...

    A/T tyre advice

I'm getting some new hoops for my truck and have narrowed down to GT Saverro plus($270ea), Wrangler AT/SA($279ea) and Dunlop Grand trek AT3(284ea) I'm probably not so keen on the Dunlop as the tread doesn't look particularly aggressive but if it is a long laster I couold be persuaded. Has anyone...

GT A/T Plus. Worth a look.

i'm looking at a set in Alice and they are asking $270 ea. I am also getting steel rims and they qouted me $135ea. It seems a bit higher than you guys are getting qouted but it is probably due to being in the middle of Australia. I reckon i'll still go a set as they looked good and another store...

    long range tank

This is the e-mail I recieved from 4WD systems. "Hi Ben, We manufacture here in South Australia a 145 Li replacement tank to suit your vehicle. We use 2mm steel for maximum strength and have fully welded internal baffles {not stitch welded} which provide extra structural strength. Standard...

    long range tank

the auxillary tank I found was made by the "longranger" The 145 litre was a 4WD systems unit and is my fav so far. They are asking $1150 inc delivery, is that allright? Would I have to remove the drive shaft do you think? Do they affect under body clearance at all?

    long range tank

I'm thinking about installing a long range tank and have found a company that do a 145 ltr replacement for a 08 D22. My question is do I need extra mounting haardware to handle the extra weight? I am also intending to do it myself, is it very difficult? If anyone has done this let me know of any...

    D22 Fuel filter plunger issues

Yeah I recently did the same thing and was told I only had to pump it a few times but nothing seemed to happen. It wasn't untill I had a really good go at pumping that sucker that any fuel travelled up the line and primed. Once it was done the plunger was really stiff to push. I was there for...

    Which compressor????

I'd go the ARB, bit more money but a bloody reliable little unit. Well designed and ready to go for setting up diff lockers. I don't know what the installation instructions are like for the others but the ARB was easy to follow and wasn't too hard to install yourself. I only use mine for tyre...

    D22 steering grinding noise

Be careful I have just recently had exactly the same problem. When I took it into Nissan they rejected my warranty claim and gave me a bill for what it would cost. Two and a half months later and many letters to Nissan Australia and they finally relented and covered it. My ute had done 35K and...

    Australia today, where its headed.

I might just convert to islam. It's such a joke. There is absolutly no strength in government. God forbid we upset the the minorities who left there countries to get away from tyranny mostly brought on under the guise of being religously motivated. You'd think they would want nothing more to do...
