Cheers mate, got some resistors from Repco. Learnt an expensive lesson buying flasher relays... None of them work except the factory one! Accidentally shorted out the stock one, and a replacement is $104 from Nissan!!!!!

    Indicator lamp removal

Hi all, Just a quick one. In the process of inverting all lamps to LED. Is it necessary to remove all the inner guard lining to access the side indicator lamp, or is there an easier way? Cheers, Pat

    Servicing costs

My 40k, 80k, and 120k services cost about $880-$900 as well. But they pull a lot more of the car apart during those services as well. Every other one was $200, not too bad. I asked for service pricing when I bought the car. If figure its not that bad once every 18-24 months. At the end of the...

    Engine surge

The heat switch, is just a high idle switch. But it cuts out when you engage a gear (any gear). The neutral position switch is what signals it. I don't why it affects the power, I'm not that smart. You're problem is what I had, though not as bad, by sounds of it. You undo all the trim and...

    Thanks to an awesome forum!

Yep, spent more cash already... Installed a turbo timer 6 months ago. Last week alone: Fixed the Neutral Position Switch  Did the EGR / butterfly mod... Removed the snorkel pre-cleaner, and put 90mm flexipipe there instead.... Installed a baffled catch can.... I think I'm already on...

    Thanks to an awesome forum!

Hey guys, Last week the ZD30 D22 started to stagger in 3rd & 4th gear :( Thought is was blocked filters, so did the service, but still the same.... Thought it was a bad batch of diesel, but still the same..... Come here, and read that it could be the neutral position switch. Cracked out the...

    Ditch the Pre-cleaner?

Hi all, I have an '06 ZD30, fitted with the factory snorkel, with the pre-cleaner. Although the piping itself isn't really good, surely the pre-cleaner strangles the engine at higher RPM? I notice a very strong induction noise under load at 2700 rpm upwards, which I assume is the restrictions...

    Turbo Failure

If they are a Garrett turbo, perhaps there is a replacement compressor wheel available? I gather that the standard wheel, may be ceramic, or sintered powder metal, which can let go. (Toyota ones do it when under higher boost levels). My thinking would be to replace it with a steel comp wheel...

    Friction Modifier

I would stay away from friction modifyer! All it does is coat the plates with a slippery coating. It does stop the chirping, but also roots the LSD. Once in there, you can't change it back, even with diff oil changes. I added some (genuine Ford 9" stuff, the best apparently) to my Surf's diff...

    D22 front LOKKA 4wd Systems

Try the 4wd systems one from goannanywhere.com.au Or..... Try online from the US. With the dollar so good, it WILL be cheaper, including freight. 5 years ago, with a bad exchange rate, I bought a Detroit Ezy-Locker for AUD$318 landed. It would be heaps cheaper now.... Pat

    Intercoolers??

I too am looking at 'cooling my ZD30. Thinking of going the water-air route, as: 1.Don't want to chop my pretty bonnet. 2. Found with air-air setup, that it didn't really benefit when taking off at lights etc, mostly beneficial out on the open road, once the air flowed through it. I've seen...

    Tough looking truck mate!

    .....and so the mods begin!

Catching turbo shrapnel is low on my prioritise for a 'cooler! I figure if I get the turbo serviced at 150,000 km, and don't abuse it, it shouldn't grenade. In the desert, I agree an intercooler would be a great modification in your case. Agree with you about EGT, very important. I used to set...

Cheers mate, thanks for the heads up. Didn't realise they ran so much boost as standard! And yes, black D22's are indeed the bomb:rock:

    .....and so the mods begin!

Hi Guys, Mine is a 2006 3.0 TD ST-R Dual cab. Haven't done much at all, due to warranty. Bought it with factory fitted snorkel, colour co-ordinated factory steel bar, tub liner/ tonneau cover and tow hitch. Only wound up the torsion bars a little to stop the front end hitting the bumpstops...

    .....and so the mods begin!

G'day guys, Bigpat here, just a newbie to the forum. Had a quick look around, and think the content here is great. My D22 is coming out of warranty soon, so the mods will slowly commence. Had a Toyota Surf previously, and had heaps of fun with mods like: Custom made bash plate Custom Stainless...
