using a beer keg for a aux tank ideas

I was just assuming you would need to cut a hole in the top and put in some kind of filler cap so you can fill it at the servo.

using a beer keg for a aux tank ideas

Yeah the keg would have to be vented so that it will drain. This could be done quite easily out the top of the keg similar to diff breathers. Run the breather as high as you can. There is a big spike kind of thing running down the centre of the keg (well the one I cut open did anyway) maybe...

using a beer keg for a aux tank ideas

Not a bad idea but a few things: Highly illegal The keg would want to be very well secured. I'd also be concerned that if the original fuel filler is lower than the top of the tank the fuel may want to gravity drain back out the filler. Honestly I think you are better off with jerry cans,sorry...

    Yep no worries

Need some help with my outboard...

Yeah can't be too hard surely. At least you might see some wear marks or something and know what it is. Someone on BFO might know what it is and save you some guesswork in the meantime anyway.

Need some help with my outboard...

Nah it got cancelled. I have got to pull the leg off my little 8hp 2 stroke to change the impeller at some stage so am happy to practice on that one if you prefer, it's probably a bit simpler to learn on.

Need some help with my outboard...

I may not be much help but I'm happy to pass the cold beers if you want a hand to pull it apart.

Need some help with my outboard...

Yeah mate. Doing heavier mild steel stuff and ally, I'm looking forward to learning some new stuff. They've got their own powder coating booth too!

What a bugger mate, I haven't heard a noise like that before but as you say sounds like a bearing or shaft rubbing. Are you a member of ausfish.com.au? There are some pretty cluey blokes on there (and a lot of wankers as well).

Legal to take out back seats?

I'm sure you have to get the capacity changed via a mod plate. Even taking the rear seat out of the back of my patrol to fit a fridge in is illegal (though everyone does it)

    braid vs mono

I use mono for the surf. Too many abrasive things ie sand, rocks, shells, and tailors teeth!

    Dave's new Dmax.

Looks bloody great mate, I like it. If its getting 8.3 while still new you should easily get in the sevens once loosened up a bit. That's half of the fuel for the same Kim's as my bloody patrol!

    Roo Systems steel bullbars

Things like that scare me when they are so cheap. Considering it would take a couple of hours to fit which would have to equate to almost half that cost they must be buying the bars incredibly cheap! Just check quality.

d40 engine gutless at the boat ramp

Yeah I am guessing it isnt in low4 properly. Its a really easy thing to mistake on them. The old Lo/Hi made it fool proof but alas we need technology apparantly. I got a chip on my old D40 manual and while it gave it more power once the turbo was spinning it didnt help any at the ramp. My boat...
