Awning question

Dumb question maybe.... could an awning be fitted to an ARB Canopy without the use of a roof rack.

Anyone done this before??

Are you going to have any roof rack on it?

I'm just wondering how you are going to mount it without a roof rack, unless... you are going to drill directly into canopy and bolt it? If doing this method, as long as you have some decent backing I think it should be alright.

possibly, but probably more trouble than its worth, easier just to get a rack as you would need some sort of internal frame work to carry it. Alternatively, you could simply put 2 bars on the cabin roof, they can be had fairly cheaply on ebay and attach the awning to them

I reckon it would work fine with the right plates added for strength and either some rubber washers or silicone to make it water proof but might just be easier to buy a set of roof bars.

I might look into a set of roof racks for the cab instead I think.

Directly off the canopy would be too low in any case, wouldn't it?
