Hi I have a d22 zd30 an I have just got a egt gauge and I'm just wondering were is the best place to fit the sensor on the motor

Were on the piping is the best place pic would be awesome if possible and what is the temp that is standard

in the exhaust manifold just before it connects to the turbo.
max temp 750-800c. someone mentioned exactly what they got but i can't remember. most diesel is nothing over 800c pre turbo.

just make sure probe tip is in the centre of the exhaust gas flow.

if you disconnect the egr pipe that comes off at the back of the exhaust manifold, you can put a blanking plate there and drill and tap your fitting into that blanking plate.

don't know if that's the "perfect" position for it in the manifold but i reckon its the easiest place. don't have to worry about getting swarf or anything in the manifold.

egr port is not bad BUT you must make sure egt tip actually reaches into manifold.
i had one of mine to short. difference between short and long was 100c.
