be careful if you attempt the pinion seal yourself, if you over/under tension the flange nut, you will cause either excessive preload or crush the collapsible spacer (too tight) or allow excessive play between crown wheel and pinion ( too loose).
Mark the thread on the pinion with a centre pinch before removal, then retighten to that point only


the manual also says you have to use a torque wrench and measure the load at the wheel nuts, take a note, then tighten pinion nut to a figure above the original torque figure etc.
