Brake Upgrade Options? 550 Brakes

I have an 08 spain build, what options have people looked in to for upgrading the brakes? Can I fit front discs and calipers off a v6 diesel?

Someone did attempt this a few years ago, I'm fairly sure there was some problem and it was not able to be done. Have you tried a decent set of pads?.

Man to be honest I haven't tried anything yet, but my front pads and discs are pretty worn and probably only have a couple thousand km left in them so thought I'd start looking at my options to upgrade since I've heard front brakes are pretty rubbish with some weight behind you, and I plan to do a lot of towing next year so want something good.

You should be ok, whatever you tow should be fitted with a good set of trailer brakes and a decent controller. The brakes on my old van 1.7t could pull itself and the tug up using the manual override, or you could set it to be unnoticeable during normal braking.
